| Common Vision Problems |

| Nearsightedness or Myopia |
| This occurs when the eyeball is longer than normal, or when the cornea curvature is too steep. This causes light to focus at a point in front of the retina, rather than directly on its surface. Nearsighted people experience blurred vision, or have difficulty seeing objects at a distance. |

| Farsightedness or Hyperopia |
| This vision problem occurs when light entering the eye focus behind the retina, rather than directly on it. The eyeball of a farsighted person is shorter than the normal, or the cornea curvature is too flat. Farsighted people have difficulty seeing objects both near and far. |

| Astigmatism |
This is a common vision problem, stemming from an irregularly shaped coenea which causes light rays to focus on two points in the back of your eye, rather than on just one. The result is distorted or blurred vision.

| Presbyopia |
| This vision problem comes from a loss of flexibility of the lens inside the eye, as well as other age-related changes. This is a gradual change throughout life but not usually noticeable until the mid-forties. Although we may call this reading vision. It is the vision we use for eating, putting on makeup, or reading a watch or computer.
