lasik technology

čLASIK stands for Laser In-situ Keratomileusis. We use 2 important instruments for LASIK. One is the Microkeratome and the second is the Excimer laser.

Microkeratome
The Microkeratome is an essential tool in LASIK surgery. It plays a major role in the process. The success of LASIK depends on the microkeratome. The innovative technology nowadays makes the microkeratome very safe to use and creates a  smooth surface cut. The microkeratome is very delicate and needs a keen hand and eye to operate.

Laservision International LASIK Center uses the Carriazo Barraquer(C&B) and  M2, the latest technology from France, and also MK 2000, the only and latest technology of the microkeratome that is  best suited for the Asian eye.

Excimer Laser helps vision CLEAR.
The excimer laser uses an ultraviolet wavelength of 193 nanometers. It is a special laser that works on the superficial layers with out damaging them in the least. It is not harmful to any of the tissue close by and it is certainly not harmful to your eyeball. The laser is precise and 100% accurate.

At Laser Vision, we put our experience to use with the advanced laser eye surgery technology. By employing the best and giving our patients customized options, we can offer better safety and results. Unlike may other LASIK centers, we use three different lasers for laser eye surgery. Which one we select for your LASIK procedure will depend on the individual needs of your eyes (such as spectacle prescription, corneal thickness and curvature, pupil size, and internal higher-order aberrations.

All patients are recommended to have an evaluation from our refractive surgery specialists. We are confident with the result of LASIK surgery and look forward to the opportunity to improve your vision, but the truth is that the tissue of each person's eye is different. Also, the reaction of the laser on each person's eye tissue is different, pre-surgical evaluation is necessary.

LV Platinum LASIK

Benefits

  • Clear Vision without Glasses or Contact Lenses
  • Corneal Tissue Saving
  • A Decreased Risk of Glare and Halo Effect
  • Increase a Chance of Correction High Range Refractive Errors
  • Super Vision

Laservision International LASIK Center utilizes NAVEX platform, the customized ablation based on

  • Aspheric Treatment – for maintaining the natural shape of the cornea, named as “LV Optimized LASIK
  • Aspheic treatment combined with NAVEX Wavefront technology –for correction of higher order aberrations, named as “LV Platinum LASIK

Thus, making this the ultimate instrument for LASIK in Thailand

LV Platinum LASIK can measure your eyes' unique combination of lower and higher order aberrations to create a custom wavefront map. The wavefront map is transferred to the Excimer Laser to design the pattern of unique profile for the treatment. Your cornea is then precisely reshaped using a muti-dimentional beam delivery tracking system and pre-calculated data from the wavefront map.

NAVEX can be compared to a tailor-made wedding dress, that is altered and shaped to best suit the unique to each person and varies in shape and size, so treatment by NAVEX is very precise and altered to suit to the requirement of each person.

What is NAVEX made of

  • Optical Path Different System (OPDScan Wavefront Plus) is the instrument used to measure optical aberrations of different kinds of eyes and the causes of impaired vision.
    • Wavefront Analyzer is the highest order aberration measurement device.
    • Optical Path Difference Scanning System is the system that checks 1,440 different spots of your cornea, then analyzes and calculates the results to ensure accuracy.
    • Auto Refractometer is used to measure the refraction of the eyes.
    • Corneal Topography is used to check the curvature of your cornea. It is very fine instrument that checks 6,400 spots of corneal curvature that could not be detected by any other machine.
  • Final Fit Software is a program that calculates and designs the pattern of the laser for NAVEX Excimer by generating the data from OPDScan Wavefront Plus.
  • NAVEX using a multi-dimentional beam delivery tracking system combined with the iris scan technology and pre-calculated data from Final Fit Software, follows the movement of the eye to ensure a precise and accurate cut. Although the eye of the patient does not remain still, the machine tracks for the proper position and performs accordingly.

    What is Optical Aberration?
The eye can be compared to to a camera, where the light focuses directly on the film, producing a sharp, clear photograph.
  • People's eye are different and each person's focal ability and depth of focus varies. This is what we called Optical Aberration.

90% of all aberrations fall into the lower order aberration category or the refractive error called hyperopia, myopia, or astigmatism. The most common means of vision correction is either by wearing glasses or by using contact lenses. For the remaining 10%, the higher order aberration, the problem is uncorrectable with glasses or contact lenses. This is where the advanced technology comes to play and helps to correct problems in the higher order aberration category.

Outcoming light from eye with higher order aberration.
Outcoming light from perfect eye with no aberration.

Higher order aberration can be treated with segmental spot technology.

    LV Optimized LASIK

    Benefits

    • Clear Vision without Glasses or Contact Lenses
    • Corneal Tissue Saving
    • Maintain Natural Shape of Cornea
    • Increased quality of Vision

The process of LASIK surgery has the potential of creating visual aberrations by flattening the shape of a patient's central cornea. There aberrations can result in decreased quality of vision and night vision problems, such as glare of halos. LV Optimized LASIK provides the best results using a specialized aspheric treatment in order to maintain natural shape of cornea.

    LV Premiere LASIK

    Benefits

    • Clear Vision without Glasses and Contact Lenses
    • Tissue Saving

Laservision International LASIK Center proudly uses the Nidek EC-5000, as LV Premiere LASIK, which is an innovative instrument that is highly regarded by ophthalmologists worldwide due to its accuracy and safety

    • Innovated by the Dynamic Rotating technique and overlapping delivery system for correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism that can be lasered in the wider area.
    • With the accurate and effective 3-Dimension eye tracker which control the laser effectively.
