presby lasik

If you have enjoyed perfect vision, you should be counting yourself lucky. However, this starts to change as you age, typically, as you approach your 40s. The sign starts showing as you are in your 40s. A condition called Presbyopia will result in the inability to focus on near objects.

Laser Vision is the first LASIK Center in Thailand offering Presby LASIK treatment. Presby LASIK is considered as the 1st All-in-One correction for shortsighted, longsighted, and Old-Age reading problem. This procedure provides presbyopic patient with both satisfactory reading and distance vision with the newly advanced PAC Software (Pseudo Accommodative Cornea).

how does PAC works?

The PAC is a new software; developed using the NAVEX Laser machine to solve your reading problem. The laser pattern creates a multifocal-shaped cornea.

Circular areas, corrected to different powers, can be sculpted on the cornea, that will correct Distance vision (even if you have longsighted, shortsighted, or astigmatism) and also presbyopia (reading problems) at the same time.

This means that the overall vision after your laser refractive surgery will continue to be useful even as your eyes age.

The final shape of the cornea is what Doctors called a prolate cornea, which has a flatter area in the center of the cornea (giving good distance vision), and a gradual change of shape outwards, (giving good near vision).

More than 80% of patients do not use reading spectacles after having presby LASIK. The others need occasional use of lower power reading glasses.

During your consultation, you can discuss this option with your doctor, and together decide upon the best choice for you.
